On June 15 and 16, DARE: Opera North & University of Leeds and the Institute of Psychoanalysis will come together to present a two-day Summer School at the Howard Assembly Rooms, Leeds.
This is the first partnership of its kind. It aims to make psychoanalytic ideas accessible to a wider public, including under- and post-graduate students who are considering a career in the field.
It will bring them to life by exploring the shared territories between psychoanalysis, opera and other performing arts, with their shared aim of telling a story with emotional intensity and meaning.
It will demystify psychoanalysis, its role in contemporary society and its contribution to the understanding of the impact of culture.
