In March 2017, Dr Delia Jarrett-Macauley was commissioned by Culture Forum North to undertake an audit of cultural sector skills development activity delivered in partnership between the cultural and higher education sectors.

Funded by Arts Council England, the aim was to gather data from a sample of over twenty arts organisations across the north of England, on partnership activity designed to develop a diverse, skilled cultural workforce.  The data will be used to create a growing resource showing the type, location and a summary of such activity; accessible reference material to inform future practice.

It is by no means a comprehensive reflection of the scale and diversity of activity, it is a first step towards sharing knowledge and experience relevant across our sectors.

The audit was informed by a discussion paper in 2016.

Organisations are encouraged to add their own experience to the portfolio of information by emailing a summary to cultureforumnorth@operanorth.co.uk.

As the table shows, there are diverse frameworks for co-delivery  of skills development programmes.
